One Global Mission

The Church of the Nazarene around the world has one mission: To make Christlike disciples in the nations. In 151 world  areas, this statement of mission is embraced.

This statement of faith has been expressed in many different ways over the past century.  In 1892, just ahead of the 1895 founding of Los Angeles First Church, Dr. Phineas Bresee began using the following language to describe the major focus of the church that was yet to come…

“The sanctification of believers, the reclamation of backsliders and the conversion of sinners”
